Why we collect your personal information

As a registered training organisation (RTO), we collect your personal information so we can process and manage your enrolment in a vocational education and training (VET) course with us.

If you do not provide your personal information, we will not be able to enrol you as a student.

How we use your personal information

We use your personal information to enable us to deliver VET courses to you, and otherwise, as needed, to comply with our obligations as an RTO.

How we disclose your personal information

We are required by law (under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (Cth) (NVETR Act)) to disclose the personal information we collect about you to the National VET Data Collection kept by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER). The NCVER is responsible for collecting, managing, analysing and communicating research and statistics about the Australian VET sector.

We are also authorised by law (under the NVETR Act) to disclose your personal information to the relevant state or territory training authority.

Your personal information may be disclosed to overseas recipients if you have engaged an Education Agent to help you enrol with ACTB. Your personal information will only be disclosed to your nominated Education Agent for the purpose of helping you enrol with ACTB.

How the NCVER and other bodies handle your personal information

The NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the NVETR Act. Your personal information may be used and disclosed by NCVER for purposes that include populating authenticated VET transcripts; administration of VET; facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage; and understanding the VET market.

The NCVER is authorised to disclose information to the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE), Commonwealth authorities, State and Territory authorities (other than registered training organisations) that deal with matters relating to VET and VET regulators for the purposes of those bodies, including to enable:

· administration of VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation

· facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage

· understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information.

The NCVER may also disclose personal information to persons engaged by NCVER to conduct research on NCVER’s behalf.

The NCVER does not intend to disclose your personal information to any overseas recipients.

VET Data Use Statement

Under the Data Provision Requirements 2012 and National VET Data Policy (which includes the National VET Provider Collection Data Requirements Policy at Part B), Registered Training Organisations are required to collect and submit data compliant with AVETMISS for the National VET Provider Collection for all Nationally Recognised Training. This data is held by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER), and may be used and disclosed for purposes that include:

· populating authenticated VET transcripts

· administering VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation

· facilitating statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage

· understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information.

NCVER is authorised by the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (NVETR Act) to disclose to the following bodies, personal information collected in accordance with the Data Provision Requirements or any equivalent requirements in a non-referring State (Victoria or Western Australia), for the purposes of that body:

· a VET regulator (the Australian Skills, Quality Authority, the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority or the Training Accreditation Council Western Australia)

· the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment

· another Commonwealth authority

· a state or territory authority (other than a registered training organisation) that deals with or has responsibility for matters relating to VET.

NCVER may also disclose personal information to persons engaged by NCVER to conduct research on NCVER’s behalf.

I declare that I am a genuine student, have carefully chosen the ACTB program I have applied for and that the program matches my future career goals. I understand that my student visa will be granted under Streamlined Visa Processing program and I must comply with Condition 8516 of the student visa conditions and maintain my eligibility to be granted a student visa. This means that I must continue to study with my SVP approved education provider delivering 572 level programs. If I wish to progress to a university provider, or change to a non-SVP provider, I must apply for a new student visa. I understand that any breach of my student visa conditions can lead to a cancellation of my visa.I have the required language, educational and material background to have a reasonable chance to successfully complete the ACTB program that I have applied for and that will be documented in my offer letter. I intend to make a genuine effort and will access recommended support services to help me complete my ACTB program.

I understand that if granted a student visa, I and my family members have obligations we must meet and breaching these obligations may result in a cancelled enrolment at ACTB as well as cancellation of my student visa by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA). I declare that I have not been refused a visa to enter Australia or any other country and I have not breached the conditions of any other visa I have held to enter either Australia or any other country.

I understand that if I provide false information or fraudulent documents as part of the process of enrolling at ACTB and obtaining a student visa, my enrolment may be cancelled at any stage before or during my study program, and I may forfeit any or all of the fees I have paid.

- Tuition costs (including material and Student Services and Amenities Fee)

- School costs for any school-aged children

I have read and understood the amounts that need to be genuinely available to me during my stay in Australia as outlined on the DHA website (refer Step 2: Gather your Documents here). These amounts are the minimum required for a student and are presented as a guide only. They do not necessarily represent my entire cost of living in Australia.

I understand that ACTB may refuse to issue an eCOE for me if it assesses my financial capacity as insufficient.

If required, I will provide some or all the following evidence to demonstrate evidence of financial capacity.

- Payslips in my name from my employer
- Bank Statement in my name, or the name of the person providing financial support to me
- A signed Statement declaring financial capacity from the person providing financial support to me
- Bank Statements showing the amount of available credit for a loan
- Official Statement on Interest Earned from investments
- Business registration papers
- Business income statements

(NOTE: Offshore applicants from DHA Assessment Level 1 countries are not be required to provide evidence of financial capacity, unless specifically requested by ACTB)

I understand that I must enrol and pay my tuition fees as outlined in my offer letter and invoices, in a timely manner, unless alternative arrangements have been made. I understand that if I cannot pay my tuition fees and related study costs, my enrolment and eCOE at ACTB may be cancelled which will affect my student visa plus any dependant visas associated with my student visa. I accept that ACTB will not help me with financial support if I am not able to cover my fees and living expenses and ACTB may cancel my enrolment, if this occurs. I understand that ACTB tuition fees are subject to an annual increase as outlined in my offer letter and that I am able to access funds to pay the increased fees.

I authorise ACTB to seek any additional information and documentation to confirm my:

- financial capacity and access to funds
- genuineness as a student

I declare that I do not intend to transfer programs after receiving my student visa for Australia with my ACTB issued eCOE. (This declaration does not remove my right to transfer programs). I understand and accept that any fees that I have pre-paid will not be refunded if I transfer to another provider after arrival in Australia under a ‘Streamlined Visa Processing’ arrangement.
